A criminal investigations special agent with the Internal Revenue shot a man in the Bay View last night, during what police say was robbery attempt. The IRS agent was apparently on duty at the time, though the IRS hasn’t released specifics on what case the agent was pursuing at the time, and whether the gun used was the agent’s service weapon. The shooting victims was injured, but is expected to survive. . .
A Richmond man has been sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for leading a gang of men in a series of robberies on small businesses and customers around the Bay Area. . .
A San Francisco permit expediter is facing 200 felony counts after, prosecutors say, perpetrating “massive fraud” by falsifying construction project papers. . .
Two men apparently impersonating police officers robbed a Pleasant Hill apartment last night, apparently pistol-whipping one of the victims. Police are on the lookout for a brown SUV with a license plate something like 4TEZ960 OR 4TEZ690. Anyone with information can call 925-288-4630. . .
Antioch police have released surveillance photos in the hopes of catching a trio that robbed a bank yesterday. . .
And there was a hit-and-run incident near the corner of Broadway and Van News yesterday in which a woman was struck by a two-door Mercedes, which fled the scene. The initial SFPD release doesn’t state whether the woman was on foot or on bike. She was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
